Wahoo Charters

Wahoo is captain Greg’s favorite.

We call these the zebras of the sea because of their beautifull striped colorings
When we catch these and they get close to the boat, it’s sight to see.
Some these critters weigh upwards of 80 pounds but average around 40-60 pounds in our waters.

Strategies we use to catch Wahoo

When know when the Wahoo show up because we will get a lot of strikes, fight them for a second or two and there gone by way of their razor sharp teeth cutting through our lines.
When this happens we switch over to wire leaders which there teeth rarely bite through.
We will troll Large flashy baits such as Ilanders and Sea Witches to inspire bites.

Other fish you might catch include.

  • Tuna
  • Marlin
  • Dolphin

Trolling these baits between 6-14 knots is what we find best in our waters.
Best months for Wahoo are September and October.

2017 Wahoo season is here folks.

Pictured here is a 6 foot long Wahoo that put up a beast of a fight.

It smashed our planer rod and screamed off line like never before.
