Offshore fishing charter for Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna and Big Eye out of Virginia Beach is one of our favorite trips we do because when they are here and running the action is second to none !  We can be trolling along minding our own business and WHAM 4 rods can slam down and reels start to scream putting everyone on board on their toes. 

The Yellowfin Tuna we get up in our area can range from 30 pounds on up to a very big one at 100 pounds and average one’s being 40-60 pounds, which is a hand full and a blast to reel in.

The Bluefin Tuna range from average 70 pounds to several hundred pounds and the Big Eye Tuna generally 90-200+ pounds.

Strategies we use to catch Yellowfin Tuna

Most of the time we have a spread of ballyhoo baits out on the outriggers and flat lines

Trolling from 6-7 knots and this is a very productive tactic.

As soon as we see them on the surface, our boat will be the first boat to break out the state of the art spinning gear such as Black Hole rods with Daiwa Saltiga reels or Shimano Stella reels and start casting poppers and stick baits to them and to catch one doing this is a memory of a life time !
