King Mackerel Charters

King Mackerel fishing inshore is the closest thing to offshore fishing, they are generally large species in our waters and they don’t call them 'smokers' for nothing, meaning when they hit your line they smoke the line off your reel with VERY long hard runs, the same as a offshore fish will do.

Strategies we use for King Mackerels

We will generally catch our first one or two while trolling the oceanfront.  Once we know they are here in our waters, we will switch tactics to live baiting for them, they cannot resist live bait and to see them explode on a live bait is truly addicting!

Turning the engines off and drifting for them works very good but our favorite way is to use a kite to dangle baits in the water and quite often we will pick up other species such as Cobia, Jack Crevalle  and sharks.

If you’re looking for a little bit different fishing experience, kite fishing live baits is a lot of fun.
