Reel screams off, you grab the reel and the battle begins. Some battles can last 30-60 minutes when the Tuna and the Blue Marlin are around and just a few minutes or longer when the Mahi-Mahi take your bait. The beauty of fishing the deep blue waters is you never can tell what’s going to eat your bait, it might be a Tuna, Dolphin fish, Marlin, Bluefin Tuna or even a Wahoo.
The blue water off the coast of Virginia beach is well known for all the species previously listed. This is just a typical example of what can happen fishing offshore, sometimes it’s dolphin after dolphin or Tuna after Tuna and so forth. Virginia Beach is home to some of the most outstanding big-game fishing in the world. Often you can find riptides 10 to 30 miles out that are full of floating grass beds, where plenty of wahoo, marlin and tuna are just waiting to be caught.
